Art Exhibit

In the spring of 1996, L. Holliey White went with a humanitarian aid group to Cuba.  As was her custom, Holliey looked for art for her collection while she was there.  Among the artists she met, two in particular impressed her with their work, and most especially, their ambiance.

In Cuba, hospitality is forthcoming on all fronts, but the husband and wife team of Contino and Maria Consuelo, both professors, brought that welcoming spirit to new heights.  After several hours in their home studio, hours of lively conversation and delicious coffee, they asked whether it would be possible for Holliey to exhibit  some of their works in Boston, and thus was born Arts Amica.

Each subsequent trip to Cuba brought new artists aboard as word of Arts Amica's association with some of the masters of the Cuban art world spread.  Arts Amica exhibits art from Cuba around the New England region.
